Amsterdam

Just a very cool city to be in, with lots to see and do.  Went to the Anne Frank house and museum yesterday.  It’s a sad state in the World’s history, but good to see as well. It’s a very popular place, but we got lucky that our line was only 45 mins long to get in. Just walking along the canals, looking at all the old old houses, grabbing a pint of beer, and enjoying the fall colors. At night we took a guided walking tour through the infamous red-light district. Pretty interesting stuff, and it’s very cleaned up and safe down there now. The ladies even have their own union that they have to join. 🙂
I asked Shawn what his favorite part about the tour was, and he said “The info on the old architecture of the buildings”. He is such a liar! 😀
One last day in Amsterdam today, then night train to Munich later on.

beautiful canals everywhere. i’d love to stay on a houseboat here.

Pic in front of bookcase that hid the entrance to the Frank’s hiding spot from the nazis. Shawn made me retake pic with a smile, which is kind of hard to do here.

Old beautiful canal houses from the 1500’s and 1600’s
